I am a self-taught artist based in the Wiltshire countryside. With animals and nature being my main subject, I am surrounded by a continual source of inspiration. I also have a wild imagination and am constantly fascinated by the natural world.
My interest in art started at the age of 4 when I would sit at the kitchen table and draw endless pictures. As I grew older my love of drawing turned into a love of painting. Firstly acrylic – painting commissioned pieces and taking part in exhibitions including the Wylye Valley Art Trail.
I then decided to turn to Watercolours a few years ago and have been selling work privately.
Watercolour is a medium that I’m having a lot of fun with; I love the natural luminosity, the freedom of flow and how the colours blend into one another, forming a unique piece of artwork. Painting is definitely my passion in life; I’m at my happiest when I have a paint brush in-hand.
I strive to tell a story through my artwork. I like to show a quirkiness to the subject and for the character to really shine through. I also like to play around with different angles and perspective.
If just one person can engage with my work then I feel a great sense of fulfilment and satisfaction.
My aim as an artist is to continually evolve and challenge myself with different styles and subjects.
