Lyn Kirkland has recently joined our group of artists and introduces many of us to a relatively unknown form of painting: encaustic painting, with molten beeswax, damar resin and pigments on birch ply panels, fusing the painted layers of wax with a heat gun. Producing highly textural and translucent paintings which are vibrant, tactile and heavenly to create. This gives the pictures a kind of 3D effect, and some of Lyn’s beautiful pieces can be seen in her online gallery in Bath Art Sales.
